South Africa Wireless Provider Signs Mobile Content Deal With SolidLabs
Barcelona, Spain (PRWeb) February 14, 2007 -- With about a 61% YTY subscriber growth in Africa, competition between mobile providers is fierce. Providing value added services to consumers is critical to increasing a wireless provider's subscriber base.
Elite Mobile of South Africa recently contracted SolidLabs to develop and power their interactive portal, iTxt. Scheduled to launch early this year, iTxt aims to give its mobile phone users in South Africa a feature-rich, fun and social experience with a mobile chat application powered by SolidLabs GLOW and premium mobile content. SolidLabs entire MobileRev suite of products and services plus a preview of the iTxt Portal will be on display at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain February 12-15 at booth number 7F57.
iTxt will be a subscription-based service offering South African mobile phone users unlimited text messages and chat rooms and free content such as ring tones, wallpaper and games. iTxt Mobile Subscribers will be able to access and download all of the mobile content for free. Non-subscribers will also be able to download content for a nominal charge, typically R5.00 (incl. VAT) per download. SolidLabs' comprehensive server APIs will integrate seamlessly into Elite Mobile's existing billing, content and SMS gateways.
iTxt Mobile, powered by SolidLabs GLOW, will provide users with a cross-platform chat and instant messaging application for communicating instantly with friends in the iTxt Community or Buddies using other Public Instant Messaging applications like MSN, Yahoo and ICQ. iTxt subscribers will be able to send unlimited messages to friends, or in chat rooms.
Using SolidLabs, Elite Mobile aims to provide their mobile phone community with an integrated messaging platform and ecosystem, along with premium mobile content geared toward maximizing recurring usage, and reducing mobile subscriber attrition rates.
